EYES: Blue
HEIGHT:5'6"
HAIR ,
While a beautiful dirty-blonde color, accompanied by graying roots, Elyzibeth has hair that is extremely hard to deal with. Length has nothing to do with it, nor does the color, but the texture instead. Her hair tends to be extremely dry and stringy, which makes it messy and hard to deal with. Despite that, though, El tries her best to make it look good and to make it look like she actually tried to tame it. Sometimes her attempts work; sometimes they don't. It really depends on what she tries to do.
Why is her hair so stringy and hard to deal with? Well, it is very dry. From a distance, her hair has the appearance of a horse's tail. If you touch it, you will realize that it feels like a horse's tail as well. This causes El to wash her hair every few days, and sometimes every few weeks. It depends on how much oil her hair produces within a certain period of time. Because there is no oil in her hair for the most part, El's hair does not smell bad, nor does it look dirty. She manages to maintain it in a way that it looks healthy, too. So no one knows she doesn't wash her hair that often.
When it comes to styles, El was never one to show off or try to do interesting and extravagant things with her hair. She usually just wears it in simple styles. Sometimes her hair will be worn down, when there is enough oil to make it set flat but not to make it look oily. She will wear it back in a low ponytail when she wants it out of her face and comfortable. Sometimes she'll braid it; other times she'll wear a bun. It really depends on how much time this woman wants to devote to her hair and how much time she has to actually do that. Suffice it to say she takes the easy road out ninety percent of the time. Things that are time consuming oftentimes throw her off and make her lose track of time, and she already has trouble doing that anyway….
EYES ,
There really is nothing special about El's eyes, especially when compared to everyone else's. Despite that, though, there is some depth to them.
At first glance, many people just see a simple set of blue eyes. If one takes a long moment to look into her eyes, they will see more than just the blue. Her eyes show a lot of what she is thinking and/or feeling. Sometimes her eyes are a gentle pool of blue, revealing her quiet and calm side. Looking into El's eyes can reveal a lot about her, especially if one is good at reading emotions and expressions. God knows she's full of both emotions and expressions.
Though generally kind in appearance, El's eyes can have a dark and almost scary appearance to them. She can easily go from calm and understanding to angry and evil. She uses her eyes to show what she is feeling, especially when she is lost for words. She uses her eyes to talk, even though she does not actually say something. People learn that El is a woman of few words and many expressions. And after realizing this, they know that she will talk with her eyes and that they must know special expressions, because El has many.
El has gotten to the point that she cannot see very well. For that reason, she has to wear glasses to help her see. She has a few pairs of glasses, all sorts of shapes, but her most common glasses are rectangular-shaped glasses. Though they make her look highly intelligent, the thick and darkly colored frames give her a very uncomfortable sort of appearance and make her look quite strange. But that doesn't bother her at all. She likes being different from others and not looking exactly perfect.
MOUTH ,
While some people have large mouths and others have small, El has an average sized mouth. Her lips are set directly below her large and somewhat pointed nose. Her upper lip is somewhat wide and barely curved in the middle to give it the usual heart shape. Her lower lip is just as wide and has a nice fullness to it. Her mouth does not overpower her face, nor does it appear to be too little.
Behind her lips is a nice set of teeth. She does not smoke, and she very rarely drinks. She brushes her teeth a lot, more than most people probably do. Her teeth, for that reason, are mostly white and tend to "shine" when she smiles. She usually wears a small smile on her face, just a simple curve to her lips. But on many occasions she will smile entirely, letting her smile stretch from one side of her face to the other, bearing her teeth. When she bears her teeth, wrinkles form around the corners of her mouth and on her cheeks. This is natural for most people, but there is an excess because El is not young and has the wrinkles given with age.
When a smile appears on the woman's face, it is genuine and very natural. It also takes up a decent amount of her face. It is bright and cheerful and oftentimes shows a certain happiness within her. It is welcoming to those around her and always seems to calm people, especially when things are awkward and ironic.
But with every smile, there comes a frown or a pursing of the lips. It is obvious when El is not in a good mood or when she's upset, because her lips will be curved downwards, and she won't even appear to be the least bit cheerful.
FACE ,
There is nothing youthful about El's face aside from her smile. If you take away her cheerful smile, you will see that nothing but age remains in her face. The presence of wrinkles and absence of make-up to cover her imperfections really makes her look her age. She does not mind, though. She knows that she is not young anymore and does not mind looking her age. She would rather have a wise mind than a youthful face - and she will tell anyone and everyone she talks to the same thing
The most distinguishable feature of the sixty-year-old woman's face is her high cheekbones. Even if she were to dye her hair and change her entire look, it would be obvious that she is who she is. Her cheekbones are high on her face, especially when she smiles. Though her face is mostly pale, her cheeks have a slight pinkish tint to them, which only intensifies when her face is extremely cold or when she is blushing from embarrassment.
Another distinguishing feature of the woman's face is the unusual glow it has. Her face tends to be a bit oily, which gives it an unusual shine. It gathers as much light as it reflects and makes her look shiny. It is obvious, though, that there is an excess amount of oil there. She washes her face as often as she can, but it does not usually help her at all.
BODY ,
Sixty years and four children later, one would think that El would have a short, plump body. While she is not the most thin woman in the world, she is definitely not the fattest. Her overall body structure is seemingly thin, because of the way it is curved, but she has an excess amount of fat on her body, which gives her an imperfect figure. She is not tall, nor is she short. She stands at 5'6", a natural body height for a woman of her age, or any age really. Despite her imperfections, El does not mind; she actually finds her imperfections to be an asset to her body, and not a hindrance. As long as she likes what she sees in the mirror, she does not care. The only opinion aside from hers that matters is her husband's, and he hasn't complained. "It's only more to love," he always tells her in a loving way if she happens to complain about her weight, which is rare. And having more to love, he says, is always better.
Her mother had been extremely curvaceous in her youth, especially after the birth of El and her sister. El's sister got the better end of the deal and grew into her body quickly, having all of the necessary feminine curves. El, however, was a late bloomer and did not gain any types of curves until she was fourteen-years-old. Her backside is almost flat, barely visible in most pairs of pants and suits. Her chest, which did not start showing until she was in her teenage years, is only noticeable if she wears a form-fitting shirt or something that is flattering on her body. Even though her curves are not the least bit large and do not match her body all that well, El does not care. She is glad that she is not like her mother or sister. She likes being her own person, her own self. She likes being easily distinguished from her family.
SKIN ,
With the exception of many freckles scattered out across her body, El has extremely fair skin. Her skin gives her a very eerie and ghostly appearance, especially when she wears lighter colors in the wintertime. The freckles, which were obtained both genetically and from excess contact with sunlight, give her face and body some color, but not too much. She still looks pale as ever. She has tried getting a tan, but it never seems to work. She always gets badly burned, which causes her skin to get more freckles and discoloration spots.
Like most older women, El has soft skin. Her touch is gentle even when it is harsh because the texture of her skin is like a feather. She uses lotion on occasion, to keep her hands from drying, which is probably the reason why her hands are so soft.
CLOTHING ,
While she is not the most stylish person, El is definitely not the most out-of-date person. Having a teenage daughter and two children in their lower twenties has helped her keep in touch with her young side and in touch with the fashions of today. Her oldest daughter, who is thirty-four, also has helped keep her seemingly young.
El is a woman who dresses for comfort, not for style or even to show off her body. She knows that she is beyond the capability of being able to show off her body and flaunt what she does have. After all, she is married and at an age where people stop looking at her. Even if she were young, single, and attractive, she would still dress for comfort. Why wear a thong if you can wear a nice pair of cotton panties, right?
The attire that El wears in her home is entirely different from the attire she wears outside her home. At home she has no one to impress and no one who is worried about what she is wearing. For that reason, she will wear her gown all day if she wants to, but that's usually not the case. She tries to get dressed in "normal" clothes in case someone shows up unexpectedly. Her around-the-house attire tends to consist of a loose pair of pants and a simple blouse, oftentimes with a high v-neck. Sometimes she will even wear her husband's flannel shirts around the house, possibly even his sweatpants or long johns. Many find her strange for doing so, but she finds it to be natural. Don't all women wear their husband's clothes?
When she has to get out of the house and into public, El will wear an assortment of things. It depends on the situation as well as the time of day and the time of the year. If she is just going out to shop or to walk around, El will wear a pair of jeans and a shirt. Her jeans are mostly formfitting, but they are not too tight for her body. She makes sure that her pants fit her comfortably around the waist and the hips. She could care less about whether or not it molds to her body. No one will be looking at her anyway. When it comes to shirts, she will wear a button-up shirt, usually buttoned aside from the top two or three buttons. She never lets her cleavage show, simply because she respects herself and others. When she is not wearing a button-up shirt, she is wearing a sweater or a blouse. Her blouses are usually solid in color, mold to her body, and have a high v-neck cut to them.
If she is going to work, El usually tries to wear professional attire. Whether she wears a skirt or a pair of pants depends on her mood, not really the weather. Her skirts are usually solid in color, black, and she wears a white button-up shirt most of the time. Her usual black skirt and white shirt is offset with a colored jacket, which is professional and seems to belong to another suit. When she is not wearing her black skirt-white shirt-colored jacket combination, she is wearing a full suit. All of the pieces match in design and color. It depends on her mood. But usually she tries to mix and match pieces, just to make it seem like she can put together an outfit. When she's not in the mood for dressing up too much, she wears a simple pair of slacks and a simple blouse.
Shoes are not something El takes a particular fondness in, but she has to wear them whether she wants to or not. Around the house she usually goes barefoot, finding that it is more comfortable. When she goes outside and it's warm, her feet are usually without shoes, unless she is going somewhere that requires shoes. She would choose flip flops and tennis shoes over flats or heels any day, but she knows that she has to wear heels or flats with her suits, usually heels. At work she removes her shoes and tends to walk barefoot around the place. She just hates wearing shoes and being uncomfortable. If she is not comfortable, she cannot work.
Though rare, El will dress up for special occasions. When her daughter married, she had to wear a very classy mother-of-the-bride dress. The dress was not too revealing, but modest and conservative. Her dresses are classy when she has to dress up, but they do not show much skin. The most skin she will usually show is her shoulders and her back, maybe a bit of her collarbone, but not by choice. Many dresses are made to be revealing, and El hates that. But she will wear something to fit in with those around her, just because she does not want to stand out among a large group of people.
OTHER ,
Jewelry was never a luxury for El when she was young and growing up. Her parents were both a bit poor and had little money, so she never really had anything to say was real that was hers as far as gold or silver was concerned. Her mother had a simple gold wedding band, but that was given to her sister just before their mother passed away.
Now that she is married and has her own money, Ely tends to wear an assortment of jewelry. Sometimes she will wear necklaces and bracelets; those things are only worn on occasion. She wears earrings everyday, usually dangling earrings, but usually hoops. She never leaves the house without wearing her own very simply gold wedding band. Her watch is also a necessity, since she tends to need to look at the time, being a person who has few time managing skills. The rest of her jewelry usually remains in the jewelry box.

GOALS:
She wants to be a better grandmother than she was a mother. She wants to be remembered for things she did and not things she didn't do - good things, of course. She wants to change the lives of people in a positive way and be remembered for the changes she makes.
PERSONALITY:
Though she is not the least bit shy, El tends to be very quiet. She does not usually talk unless someone else speaks to her first. If she does happen to talk first, she usually has a reason for doing so. She enjoys talking to people and getting to know them, but she is not one to start and hold conversations. She was never a great conversationalist. She actually admits to being a poor conversationalist and will be the first to admit that she is not the most interesting of people to talk to. She is not afraid of what people will think of her if she cannot talk and hold a conversation. She can't help that that's who she is.
When you do happen to get to talking and find a conversation that she can easily respond to, El is a very fun person to talk to. She oftentimes brings about new perspectives on set ideas and has a way of swaying people into believing one thing when they may have believed in another. She does not do it purposely, but she can present matters in a particular way that make what she says or does correct. She is insightful when it comes to stuff like that and will willingly give her opinion or view on it, regardless of what other people think. But she tries to remain unbiased in the event that someone may become offended.
Aside from being good at conversations, once they're started, El is also a very good listener. Being a mother of four and a teacher has helped her with such a skill. She has learned to listen to all sides of the story and take into consideration numerous things. She knows better than to let herself be fooled by someone like a mere child, or even someone her age. She has the sense enough to come in when necessary, and she has enough brains to determine when someone is talking about her or someone else. But… a listener - that is what El is.
Though seemingly quiet all the time, El is one of those people that gets up and does what she has to do. Come time to teach, she's standing up, bouncing around, getting the attention of the students. She tries to keep their attention and tries to make things interesting and fun, no matter what it takes. She enjoys trying to teach students and enjoys especially the respect she gets while she teaches. She is laidback when teaching, relaxed, easygoing, calm, understanding, cool, collected - you name it. She doesn't even make the students call her professor. She just tells them to call her Elyzibeth, El, Ely, Liz, Beth - whatever they want, as long as it is appropriate.
She is a very understanding person, able to decipher situations and problems and help people through them. If you're having a tough time, she is willing to help you out in whatever way she can. She is very warm-hearted and enjoys being able to help others when they need it. Her favorite type of help to give is emotional help, or just simple advice. She likes when people ask her questions about family or friends, love or death - she can give a lot of advice on those things, or try to. She makes sure people know that she is not all-knowing and all-powerful, but she does let them know that she knows something more than the average person.
Some of the things that Elyzibeth knows were learned from books while others she has learned from experience. She loves reading and learning new things. A lot of her knowledge has come from books. To supplement the book knowledge is that from personal experience. Her personal experiences help shape the knowledge she gets from books. From that, she creates an opinion or perspective entirely her own. If someone needs her to share her perspective, she will. And that's all there is to it. She can't really say that she is "intelligent," but it is possible to say that she has had a decent enough education and that she has used it to the best of her ability and to her advantage.
Many admire El for her brutal honesty. She does not like lying to anyone, especially those who do not know her. She likes people seeing her for who she is and not for who they want her to be. She likes being who she is and likes letting other people see that side of her. She does not pose as someone else, nor does she try to come across as an all-knowing, perfect person. In fact, she makes sure she comes across as just the opposite. She does not like the idea of being perfect and refuses to be told that she is. Her husband has learned not to say that she is "perfect," even if it is a comment made in affection. She refuses to believe him.
When complimented, El tend to be very modest. She will either shrug the compliment off or allow a blush to pass through her cheeks. She never lets it get to her head, nor does she let herself get lost in the compliment. She will actually speak out and disagree with whoever made the compliment. She is not modest because she thinks she has to be, but because that is just who she is. Modesty is something that El possesses in great intervals even though many people tell her she needs to stop being so modest. She just can't help it.
One would think that El would put her utmost trust in people, especially her friends, but this is not true. El knows better than to trust just anyone, and she refuses to let herself just trust whoever she sees. The world has never been a safe place, and the people within it have never been easily trusted. El refuses to let anyone have her trust unless she knows them very well and knows that she can tell them things without it getting her into trouble in the long run.
Aside from modesty, El is extremely loyal. She is, as many would say, "a fierce friend" and will do almost anything for a friend. She likes having friends because it gives her someone to talk to, but because friends are always great to have when she needs it the most. Though she tends to be quiet and to herself, El makes friends somewhat easily, both young and old. She is easy to talk to, a great listener, and very understanding. And when you really get to know her, she is very fun-loving and laidback.
A mother of four, Elyzibeth is a very motherly person. She tends to do those simply motherly things that annoy people. If someone has something on their face, she will use a napkin or a handkerchief to wipe whatever it is off the person's face. She will also help fix someone's hair or tuck their tag into their clothing. Most people find her strange, but it is just a habit she has, thanks to her thirty-four years of being a mother.
Even though she has been married for thirty-six years and has been a mother for thirty-four, El is nowhere near a great housekeeper or cook. In fact, her house tends to be a bit disorganized. Things are out of place or stuffed into corners of a room, just to be put out of the way. She knows how to make things look organized, but it is obvious that things are not organized. She does not like complete clean or organization, either. She simply cannot stand it, probably because she is used to have that slight sense of dirtiness around her.
She can't cook either. Well, she can cook very simply and plain dishes, but nothing overly extravagant. She usually leaves the cooking up to her husband since he can cook far better than she can. When he does not feel like cooking, the two will go out to have dinner at a restaurant together, especially when the kids are not around. They enjoy getting out and spending time together, no matter how rare it is.
Even though El seems like a really nice person and like nothing can tick her off, she does tend to have a slight attitude. If you do something that annoys her or if she is having a bad day, she will be a bit angry and moody. If someone upsets her, she will only take it out on that person, usually. If it’s just a bad day, she will be mad at everyone. Her anger and moodiness is not an often occurrence, but it does happen every once in a while. It usually takes a lot to upset her.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY:
When the couple, after seven years of marriage, found out that Camille was pregnant, they were both a bit worried. They had never even wanted to have children, just each other. There were well into their lives, both in their forties, and they were still not economically stable. While both of them were still bringing in money from their teaching jobs, they were still not bringing in enough that would support an extra mouth - or in this case, two extra mouths. Camille was pregnant with twins, and they would be arriving six months after the day she found out. The couple had little time to prepare for the arrival of two babies. They had little money to purchase anything for them. All they had to rely on was luck, since their parents had already refused to help them out, being old and stingy people.
When they both asked their parents for assistance, their parents simply laughed at them. They said that they were too old to be asking "mommy and daddy" for help and that they should have thought about that before making love without thinking it through. Camille and Henry were both a bit upset that their parents had laughed at them, only to follow up by turning them away. The entire situation was depressing, but they had to pull through. Camille's parents had retired and had more than enough money to spare. Henry's parents were still running the shop with the help of his younger and older siblings, all of which had married and had a bunch of children. But none of them had gone to college, so none of them were in dept like their brother.
Twin girls arrived on June 22 early in the morning, before the sun rose. The two children could not be more different. The first born, Tebytha, came out screaming loudly and flailing her arms about. The second born, Elyzibeth, came out quiet and calm; the doctors thought she was dead at first until she made a simple cooing noise. Many thought that they would both grow out of such differences, but they both remained as they were born. Tebytha was loud; Elyzibeth was quiet.
Like many twins, the two shared a bedroom. That was really the only option since there were only two bedrooms, and one was in use by their parents. They each shared a crib as well, simply because that was all Henry and Camille could afford to buy. They had few outfits to wear and few cloth diapers. Washing the diapers became a frequent necessity that Camille ended up taking into her own hands, even though she really did hate it.
Even though the couple was barely surviving with the money they both made together, Camille had to resign from her position at the school. The babies were entirely too much, and they could not afford a sitter to watch them. So Camille secluded herself and returned to the home. She became a housewife and a mother. Though she really did want to help work and make sure they had more money, she could not, at least not now. She didn't mind being a mother, but it became tiring on occasion.
As the two infants matured and turned into toddlers, the mother's task became much more complicated. Tebytha was a terror and was always getting into things. She was always picking on her "younger" sister, pulling her hair and stealing her toys. Most children would have screamed or whined about things like that, but Elyzibeth was quiet and to herself. She never did care about toys, and she was always open to sharing. She learned the lessons her mother taught her and her sister, but her sister always had trouble understanding simple concepts.
At the age of five, both the girls were sent to an elementary school in the town where they lived. They both disliked it, but for separate reasons. Tebytha hated being around all the other kids, having to share and place nice. Elyzibeth hated it because she was away from her mother, whom she loved very much. But, they had to go to school. Everyone knows how that goes….
The years progressed, and the twins continued to go to school. They advanced through elementary school, then into middle school and high school. In both elementary and middle school, Ely did not have the best grades. She had mostly Bs and Cs, but there was an occasional A or two on her report card. Middle school proved to be the time where her grades got a bit better. But high school was really when she worked her butt off. She wanted to have some of the best grades. She wanted to be educated, intelligent, resourceful. So she really hit the books and made sure she worked her butt off to get the grades. Besides, she wanted to go to college after graduating.
While in high school, Ely was never considered a "geek." She never liked popular clubs; she never liked getting to the SGA or any other "popular" organizations. She was more of an artist of sorts, preferring to do band and foreign languages. She was skilled in those things, possibly because she was "not like the others." She was in the choir, plus she played in the orchestra band. She took a particular interest in the art of music, and she studied heavily into it by participating in a music appreciate club.
When she graduated, she was definitely not in the top of her class. But she was not at the bottom, either. She had an extremely intelligent class, and those who were in the top were the honors students and the ones who had fairly rich parents. But Ely graduated. And she went off to college the August following her graduation.
While off at college, Ely majored in music - vocal and instrumental - and minored in education. She enjoyed teaching people new things and help them understand things they didn't understand when they first learned it. She knew, since her sophomore year, that she wanted to be a teacher. All she had to do was incorporate something she loved into it. So she decided that she wanted to teach music. She attended school on the post-secondary level for six years, until she received her master's degree.
During her time at the college, she met the man that would eventually be her husband. His name was Thomas Alexander. The two hit it off in their first year at the college - since they were both the same age - and married shortly after they graduated. They then found jobs directly following their honeymoon, Thomas as an amateur journalist and Elyzibeth as a music teacher at a local high school in the area where she and her husband lived.
Two years after they were married, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Giselle. Eight years after their first child was born, they welcomed another baby girl they named Jayden. Two years after Jayden came Kasey, a baby boy. And nine years after Kasey came their fourth and final child, Ophelia. Ophelia had been a surprise for the forty-five-year-old couple, but they welcomed her without hesitation and with open arms. (Children's ages: 34, 26, 24, 15)
Ely has been working as a teacher for the past 34 years; she has worked in three different schools, each close to the other as far as distance is concerned.

t i can doROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
As deep blue eyes read carefully over a sixteen-inch parchment about electricity, written by one of her sixth years, the sixty-year-old professor reached her hands behind her head and removed the clip. Her hair fell down her neck and past her shoulders; the dirty-blonde and gray coloring seemed to shine slightly as the light filtered in through the window. She twisted her hair back and put the clip in it. Though it was tighter than it had been before, it was a bit more sloppy and lumpy than it had been previously. She sighed to herself as she made sure her hair was fixed and the lifted a pen in her left hand. She scribbled something sloppily onto the left-hand corner of the paper. She did this for a few papers. And then there was a knock at the door. And then another. And then another. Ely looked up and in the direction of the door and blinked.
She had been about to call across the room for the person to enter, but the door opened with a somewhat loud squeak. Ely straightened her back some as a student poked her head in and spoke. The girl's voice was somewhat quiet and barely audible from across the room. Ely sat forward on her seat. "Good afternoon," the professor said in a cheerful sort of tone, welcoming to say the least. When the young girl said that she had a slip of parchment for the older professor, the woman tilted her head and looked at the girl from behind her glasses.
"For me?" she asked as she raised a hand to her chest, as if to signify herself. She was surprised that the girl had a parchment for her; that was more than obvious. Who was it from? Why were they sending it to her? She thought for a moment and then stood to her feet, walking across the room to the young girl who was still standing in the doorway. She blinked a few times from behind her glasses and offered her hand for the parchment. And then she laughed aloud at herself a bit. Standing there in curiosity of what the note could be about and who it was from - it made her feel like a teenage girl waiting on a note from an anonymous lover. The thought had made her giggle slightly. Of course, the young Hufflepuff would be wondering what the professor was laughing for, the reason for laughing for what appeared to be no real reason.
"I feel like the teenager I never was, waiting for notes and wondering who they're from." She smiled a bit, wrinkles forming at the corners of her eyes as she did so. There was no hiding her age when she smiled, that was for sure. All sixty years showed up on the woman's face. But she didn't care. She never had and never would, not even when she was in her hundreds, if she lasted that long. She smiled a bit more at the young girl. She looked vaguely familiar, and the professor was sure that she knew her name, even though she had never taught the girl a day in her life. The other professors had probably spoken about her and described her, but it seemed that the girl's name had slipped from the woman's mind. But that wouldn't have been too bad, since the girl was not one of her students specifically.
