PERSONALITY: Jim is ridicuously charming when he wants to be - a trait his mother claims he learned from his father. He also knows how to get what he wants from anyone and everyone, including his parents. Without a distinct plan or goal, Jim becomes totally uninspired and unmotivated. Outside of his aspirations for social success, he rarely focuses on anything else - and that includes his own happiness. For the most part though, Jim is great at talking with people; he's very personable and knows how to assert himself appropriately in a professional situation.
At the core, Jim is a good person who simply means well and just aspires for a better life. Though he may occasionally waver and offer someone significant doubt, he is a good person who will make the right decisions in the end. Jim is an endless source of understanding. He is an excellent listener who tries his best to look at a problem from all sides and all angles. There is very little he would be able to say to a person who presented a logical, well thought out problem or issue to him. If nothing else, Jim is patient. He will wait for anything, everything and more importantly anyone.

a little closerPARENTS: Richard and Matilda Kent (a Microsoft board member who's main job now consists of going to meetings via satellite, he's basically retired; Richard really doesn't do anything technical anymore; Matilda is a home maker and always has been, serving on boards and social groups)
SIBLINGS: none known
OTHER RELATIVES: none that need specified
AUTOBIOGRAPHY: James aka Jim is just an average guy. His family moved to Phoenix when his dad 'semi-officially' retired. He hates the heat and the sand and misses his hometown of Seattle as if it somehow broke off and is now floating in the Pacific Ocean. Things with his parents are good; Jim is their pride and joy and their relationships are strong. He looks forward to getting into the Arcadia party scene, hoping there is an Arcadia party scene.
Back in Seattle, Jim was known as 'The Wingman'. He was really good at getting his friends hooked up with girls at parties and did a little hooking up of his own, but never actually had sex with anyone. He's the champion of third base, but can never manage to close a deal with anyone. There's probably a really sincere part of him that wants to wait for the right girl, but at seventeen he doesn't quite know that part of him exists yet.
He likes hanging out and he gets along well with most people. He's comfortable with a drink in his hand, but he's really not much of a drinker; it's more a prop than anything else. He's all about new technology and likes taking really expensive things apart and putting them back together. He's extremely guilty of internet piracy: downloading anything and everything from movies to music and software. He's got a laid back lifestyle and nature that most people really enjoy.

t i can doROLEPLAY SAMPLE: It was way too early for a weekend day. Saturday, Sunday... He couldn't quite remember which it was as he rubbed the crap out of his eyes and made his way out of bed and to his car. He had taken about five minutes to pull on a shirt, some jeans, a hoodie... At least, he thought it was a hoodie as he twisted the key and revved the sad little engine. It was the weekend; no other responsibilities and he finally had time to do the things he wanted to do. Jim was still learning where things were; there were basics like the gas station, grocery store and of course the school. But save those three places he found himself totally naive to the rest of the town. He was looking for caffeinated relief; back in Seattle it could be found on every other block, accented in green and a person could be ushered inside by a lovely woman in black and white.
"Every town has a coffee place," he told himself as he switched on the radio. His speakers emitted some kind of local news rag, complaining about the latest and greatest corruption of 'the children' and how calling the station and pledging your funds could help. He scoffed and slipped in a CD; something one of his old friends had left him that was something kind of punky. He tapped his hands on the steering wheel and bobbed his head a little. Finally his eyes landed on the coffee shop he'd heard about in passing - It's a Grind.
Jim pulled in quickly and tucked his hands in the pockets of his hoodie. He inhaled deeply, enjoying the aroma of the coffee beans even from the outside of the building. He pushed open the door and his eyes immediately fell onto the menu board. There was a line, but it was short enough to be accommodating. Waiting his turn, he approached the counter with a smile. The girl behind it was young - probably in college or attending a high school that was not his own. From her he ordered a medium-sized plain, black house blend. She met his needs easily and gave him a look that made him wonder if she was interested. Tossing his change into the tip cup and giving her a wink, he took a seat on the far side of the coffee house.
For a few minutes he sipped noncommittally and did some people watching, but there wasn't anything that caught his eye. He shuffled through the magazines on the table in front of him until he found the local paper and spread it open. Nothing else to do, he told himself; trying to not feel bad about being the only person under forty he knew who would enter a coffee shop and read a newspaper. The house blend was good, and he stole another glance at the girl who had poured it for him. It was clear that her charm was not just for him. If he were more awake he would have laughed to himself, but instead he just scanned over the sports scores.
