The sun was shining, contrary to the rest of the week, or so it seemed. A petite teenage girl walked around outside, around the grounds of the high school, her bright purple-ish blue hair looking almost like it was glowing in the sunlight. She hummed lightly, singing along to the song playing in her head. She was just glad to be able to be outside in the sunlight while the nice weather lasted. A smile flickered on her lips as she thought back to the events of the week. She met someone. Someone whom she thought, just maybe, she could be friends with.
Friends. Such a vague term. Callie never really had anyone that she considered a true friend, except her sister, Steph, but they were siblings. It was different. Maybe, just maybe, she could trust someone enough to be able to let herself form a relationship of sorts. She had acquaintances, sure, or people that she hung out with from time to time. Nothing more than that, though. Nothing more than the occasional, "Hey, wanna get a cup of coffee after school?" or "Wanna help me study for this math test?". Maybe it'd be fun to actually have someone that she could sit down and have a real conversation with.
Sighing, Callie walked over to one of the larger, more shady maple trees on the grounds. She plopped down underneath it, leaning her back against the massive trunk. She dug through her messenger bag, pulling out her sketchpad and a pencil, putting the pencil behind her ear. She fiddled with her mp3 player, going to artists, and then selecting Tom Gabel, the singer of Against Me!, who also did his own solo work, which she found equally amazing, though different from the whole band's sound.
