The weirdest thing happened today. I was browsing the advertising section on pbs, and I came across something oddly familiar... After taking a closer look, I realized that someone created a Battle of the Bands rpg that was nearly identical to mine. They copied the location it took place, and, a character description nearly word for word. See for yourself. my old sitethe site that I foundI'm kinda peeved about this, I guess. In a way, I guess it's flattering, but they could've at least put it in a different city and written their own description. They even took the exact same name for the entire board.

Oh man... I'm really sorry that happened to you. I really can't stand people who plagiarize. Maybe I'm just easily irritated, but I think it's really shitty to steal someone's work without at least putting some kind of credit down, or talking to them about it beforehand, you know?
You can always report it to Proboards, if the owners of the site don't do anything to change it. They take that kind of stuff pretty seriously now-a-days.

I mean, I can deal with the general concept being taken, because there's a lot of band rpgs out there nowadays...but a word for word description? And the exact same name and place of the site? I'm just kinda bitter I guess.

I think you have a right to be, though, I mean, they basically stole your work. Honestly, I'd be pretty angry, too, especially since they had the nerve to take from a character you created. Apparently, those people don't have enough originality in their own minds if they have to take ideas from someone else without giving proper credit.
That happened to a friend of mine once, too. Someone stole her entire character -- name, celebrity, history, everything -- and tried to pass it off as their own. It's kind of upsetting to think that people would do something so low, you know? Especially over something as simple as an RPG site.
Like I said, if it's something that really bothers you, report it. To be honest that's probably what I'd do.

That is really terrible. I've got to agree with Jasper. In recent years, Proboard Support has gotten really good about providing guidance and assistance in these situations. Keep us posted if you do end up reporting them.
