ide looking inHAIR: Jackson's hair is dark brown, the same color as his mother's. If it were up to him he would leave it just long enough to be messy, but not so long that it hangs in his face. His father is a fan of a clean shave and a sharp haircut, so Jackson pushes his buttons by doing the exact opposite.
EYES: The color of his eyes changes depending on what he wears, surroundings, etc. They sometimes are more green, sometimes more blue and occasionally more of a gray color. Despite the interesting way they change color, they are already failing and he needs to wear glasses or contacts at all times.
HEIGHT: Jackson is just under six feet tall. He had an amazing growth spurt over the last school year, but it seems to have stopped for the time being.

PERSONALITY: Jackson has always had a sort of studious, contemplative nature about him. Even as a small child, he would spend time by himself preoccupied in some kind of thought. He is the kind of person who thinks more than speaks and will think extensively about what it is that he wants to say before he says it. Though he loves his sister and father dearly, he does enjoy spending moments alone and in order to get those he will sometimes stay up very late at night by himself. He enjoys the quiet of the late evening.
Whether it comes to human interaction or purchasing a new electronic device, Jackson does his research first. He will never perform an action of which he is not sure the outcome. It takes him awhile to make a move in any direction, but once he finally does it is the right move and for the right reasons. Sometimes this can be a hindrance, he has a rather practiced way about him and certainly is not one prone for spontaneity.
For all of these reasons coupled with his English accent he is sometimes interpreted as lofty or self-righteous. Alternately, he is not judgmental and will take the time to really learn about a person before making any decisions. For this reason, friends he has are of a higher quality and generally last longer. He is also a very patient, forgiving kind of person; due in large part to his role as an older brother. He is a constant source of comfort and kind ear for Cassie and his friends.
He is ambitious. When it comes to what he wants, he gets it once he figures out what it is and the best way to achieve it. He feels bad because his father really wants him to pursue a career in law. While Jackson has some interest, he highly doubts he'd want to spend a lifetime doing research and trials. He admires his father for the way he has taken care of their family and they have a very close relationship. Though his career aspirations remain a mystery, he knows the kind of man he wants to be, one day.

a little closerPARENTS: Daniel and Felicity Gordon met during law school at Harvard. Both were pursuing different interests, his being tax law and hers being environmental studies. They were graduated one week and married the next. Both had found a home in America, though all of their family remained in their native country of England. Daniel was a successful lawyer right out of the gate, earning good pay to the point where Felicity did not have to work if she did not want to, so she didn't. Instead she stayed home and birthed a son - Jackson and then six years later a daughter - Cassandra. Shortly after their daughter's birth, Daniel and Felicity were informed of a cancerous tumor possessed by the latter. Her illness was short and she died less than a year later from breast cancer, leaving Daniel to fend for the family and raise two very young children. He is very close with his son and his daughter and despite his long work hours had made them the priority in his life. After his wife's death he moved their little family from New England to Arizona - nearly as far away as he could get, taking a job with a small tax firm.
SIBLINGS: Cassandra Jane Miller was born when Jackson was three. The age difference is just enough to endear her to him completely. Now that he is in high school and she is in middle school, they have the occasional squabbles, but nothing serious. Jackson is rabidly protective of his sister and in the absence of their mother sees raising her right as part of his responsibilities as well. Cassandra or Cassie, thinks the world of Jackson, though she despises her younger friends calling him 'cute'.
OTHER RELATIVES: Jackson sports an extensive family in England, but with the distance and his father having no interest in visiting them since Felicity's death. Jackson has memories of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins - but he doesn't really know anything else and his father wouldn't talk about it.
AUTOBIOGRAPHY:
Jackson's early life was spent in England, visiting amongst his mother's extensive family. He has distinct memories of his mother and her warmth and kindness. Felicity would tease his father for being too serious, too worried... His mother's illness, though short lived caused him much agony and he was a changed little boy after her death. At his father's request he put on a stiff upper lip for Cassie, who would be too young to even remember their mother's kind face, warm smile and gentle voice. He would not learn until much later that his mother's family largely blamed his father for her death; their lifestyle, their move to the United States.... Jackson has not seen any of his extended family in years.
Their family now consists of his father who works hard, hoping that the next fifteen years will render him enough cash to retire comfortably. They live in a decently sized house with all of the comforts you could expect. Things like the chores are attended to by a couple of servant-type people, though Jackson and Cassie think of them more as family - Mick and Maggie Swanson, an older married couple who live in the guest house and care for Jackson and Cassie when Daniel is away - which is not as often as it used to be. His upbringing has been strict, but good. Daniel believes greatly in education outside the classroom and hits Jackson and Cassie with things like extended reading lists, projects of research and study. He fully expects Jackson to take a career in some branch of law. He is overbearing and persistent with Jackson, the way his father was to him.
As much as he can remember, Jackson has always attended school in Arizona. Somehow amongst all of the other students, he has retained his English accent, spoken lightly and always more obvious with excessive emotion. Now in his second year of high school he is considering more thoroughly the destined occupation his father wishes for him. He wants to make his father happy, but hopes that if his wishes go another way, he will understand. Though he sports a decent circle of friends, he puts his little sister above anyone else he's ever met. Her continued happiness and positive growth are two things he takes very personally.
